About Me
Introduction
Hi, My name is Ricky Olguin. I’m a 20year old writer that enjoys occasionally writing stories, and anything humorous or informative. I take great pride in being “adorkable,” random and sometimes even awkward because all of these make up who i am.
Personal
I struggle everyday within myself with my thoughts. I write to try to figure things out, although sometimes my writing gives off the impression that I already have them figured out. The truth is that I’m learning every day. I believe my greatest fear is not knowing. So slowly but surely, word by word, I’m beginning to know things. Some people might say that i know more than a lot of people already, but i do not think so. And if i somehow do, i know that they are more people that still know more than me. I also fully believe that you can never stop learning, so i always strive to learn as much as i can.
I’m not a confident person. I’m insecure, weak, and I need constant reassurance. I’m not perfect. I try to be nice all the time, but I’m still a normal person. If something gets to me, I can be just as big of a jerk as the next guy.
Who I Am
I’m a person. Just a person. I have feelings just like everyone else. Maybe even more so. I think love and strength can solve a lot of problems, but it can also create many more. I also think that hate only creates problems, and solves none.
I believe we should all chase the idea of peace. Some people have told me how can i believe in peace when i want to be a soldier. Well the answer to that question is that every soldier believes in peace. Peace for their country and for their family. The only way to accomplish this sometimes is only through war. It might seem awful and cruel when it comes to this, but i assure you it is necessary. Anyways, I also believe laughter is a necessity. I believe perfection is an opinion. And I believe opinions are are what makes us all unique.
I believe in creating things bigger and better than myself.
Education
Well I am currently attending Glendale Community College as a Buisness Major. After that, i’m going to transfer to Arizona State University to finish getting my bachelors degree in Comuter Information Systems. After I accomplish that, I will most likely become a United States Officer. If somehow I decide not to do that, I’ll probably just get a job as a Couputer Information System Manager.
Why I Write
I believe all of us have thoughts that we want heard, but sometimes we are too afraid to say them. Through writing, we can release these thoughts. We can write whatever we want and not be judged for it. And even if no one reads it, it’s still out there waiting to be found. It just takes some time. Writing can also help release some stress by releasing some of the scrambled mess out of your mind.
I write because I like telling people what is on my mind. I love getting responses from people all over the world. People that i can relate too. I love the fact that I have the opportunity to make people think with words that come from myself and that they actually understand. I love the fact that maybe my writing will inspire people to do great things.
At first I was scared to write. I thought I would be criticized negatively. But there are so many great people in the world who have encouraged me to keep writing, that im not scared anymore and it’s because of them that also helped make me into the person i am today.
Things I Like
Arizona Green Tea, Writing, Cookies, the Army, awesome people like you, Nickelodeon and Disney (Im still a kid at heart), tumblr, Reading Books, Computers, Music, and Thinking (but not to much because i’ll end up thinking too much.) and thats about it for now. :)
